This three-story, 70,000 SF, state-of-the-art building, is the new home to the Science and Engineering, Math and Computer Science Departments at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory. It is the largest building on campus and the anchor to the academic quad.
The building features three labs, one each for Biology, Chemistry and Physics. All labs have adjacent lab prep rooms.
The Computer Science labs include a computer lab and an engineering lab with an adjoining computer lab. In addition, there are 21 classrooms, seminar rooms and collaboration areas, as well as an 81-seat lecture hall that is attracting growing numbers of visiting scientists and engineers. The 25 double-occupancy faculty offices are designed to foster teamwork, with common spaces for collaboration and conferring with students. The new facility enables the Science and Engineering, Computer Science and Math classes to be located in one space, facilitating discovery and cross-disciplinary studies. The science labs are similar to those found in college and industry research facilities.
