Wescott Study Center
Houston, Texas

The Woodlawn Foundation Inc. selected Jackson & Ryan Architects to design two new study centers. The Wescott Study Center is designed to facilitate integrating faith, life-style, and work as guided by the Catholic Prelature of Opus Dei.

The program for the men's congregate living facility includes a chapel, living areas, two large classrooms with a combined capacity of 60 students, a library, multiple meeting and conference rooms, and bedrooms for 14 residents.

At the center of the Wescott Study Center is the chapel used for daily mass, special services, and private prayer. Designed with a sense of grace that fuses the historical heritage of the Church with the light, airy vastness of Texas. This chapel is a modern interpretation of liturgical space with classical proportions and clean detailing.
