Houston, Texas
Designed for a Vietnamese congregation on the northwest side of Houston, the Romanesque-style Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church seats 1,200 with room for over 300 overflow seats. Located adjacent to a freeway, the sculptural profile of the triple towers proved to be a recognizable landmark addition to this campus, which already includes two buildings and a replica of the grotto at Lourdes. In order to accommodate a challenging budget, the exterior is designed as a completed composition, while the interior is intended to be embellished with stonework and art over the course of several years.
