Kim Raborn Hanschen, AIA, Principal
A native Texan, Kim received a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Architecture from Rice University. Kim is passionate about work that has a positive impact on our communities and ALL their inhabitants. As Principal in Charge of the Animal Welfare Design Studio, Kim regularly takes the stage at regional and national conventions, speaking on the design of animal welfare facilities and how these facilities impact the health of animals and their communities. She is sought after as a trusted expert in the field of animal welfare design. She is an adept communicator who intuitively understands our clients’ needs from the early stages of a project. She works closely with our clients to develop their vision, build consensus, and find innovative solutions to empower them to meet their goals. She finds the complexity of architectural challenges meaningful, engaging, and rewarding.
Kim spends her free time at home with her cat Nahla, camping with her husband Andrew and their daughter Freyja, or traveling the world to places like Crete, the Orkney Islands, and Vanuatu.
